Willis Athlete Piling on Offers
In the high scoring Big 12 conference, every team is looking for players with speed that can either make plays with the ball or defend the pass. In Willis (Tx) Willis athlete Brent Walters, teams have a player that can do both.
Walters played quarterback, running back, receiver, kick returner, and safety, on his way to being named first team all district. In the past month the offers have started coming in at a rapid pace. Baylor, Houston, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, and Rice have all sent scholarship offers to the 5-11, 180lb athlete.
"I liked it," Walters said about receiving the offer from Baylor. "I haven't seen the school, so I don't know much about them, but I know they have good academics."
Many schools like Walters as a receiver and a safety, so most of them are giving him the opportunity to play either position in college.
"I'm not sure where schools want me to play," said Walters. "When I visit schools, they always have me sit in on both the offensive and defensive meetings."
When it comes to which position he would prefer to play in college, Walters said that he doesn't have a preference. Where a school wants him to play also won't have an effect on his decision.
"I like playing both sides," said Walters. "It doesn't matter to me where coaches want me to play. I'm just looking for a school with a good team, and good academics."
Walters visited Oklahoma recently, and plans to make a trip to Waco in the near future to visit Baylor University.
