A week after finishing second, clhstrojans won the PelicanPreps.com's Week 8 Pick'Em Contest by going 15-5 on a week when upsets kept a number of pickers from racking up the points. clhstrojans actually tied for first with lillarry2009, who also went 15-5 but picked 35 for the combined final score of the tiebreaker game between Neville and Franklin Parish. clhstrojans was closer to the combined score of 51 with his guess of 49.
Four people tied for third with scores of 14: bordelon36, al329, neville2009 and MSfootball09.
clhstrojans earned a two-month subscription to PelicanPreps.com. A total of 45 people participated this week. clhstrojans correctly guessed the following winners: Rummel, Catholic-Baton Rouge, Many, Breaux Bridge, Brusly, Oak Grove, Ouachita, John Curtis, Parkview Baptist, Acadiana, Rayville, Hahnville, Central Lafourche and Gueydan.
Port Allen's 20-13 win over St. James was the week's biggest upset, according to pickers. Only 5 people picked Port Allen. Another big upset was another District 8-3A game when Brusly defeated Plaquemine 30-14. Only 10 people thought Brusly would win.
The games for Week 9 Pick'Em should be posted by Tuesday morning.
