Georgia WR has clear No. 1

Vienna (Ga.) Dooly County three-star athlete Keith Mumphery currently holds eight offers, with many options spanning BCS conferences such as the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 and SEC, but if you ask the 6-1, 195-pounder about the current standing of his recruitment, he's focused on one Big Ten school.

"So far (Michigan State) is No. 1, sir," Mumphery told SpartanMag.com Tuesday night when asked about possible favorites. MSU is recruiting him at wide receiver.

Mumphery's offer list includes Arkansas, Middle Tennessee State, Mississippi State, Michigan State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest, and though he named the Huskers and Cowboys as attractive options, he quickly stated, "but I'm leaning towards Michigan State, sir."

Why the Spartans?

"The pro-style offense," Mumphery explained. "The pro-style makes it easier to adjust to the NFL because most NFL teams run a pro-style offense, so that's the kind of wide receivers they want. Like I said, it will be easier to adjust to the NFL."

Mumphery plans to get a closer look at the Spartans' version of the pro-style offense when he spends a weekend in East Lansing next month.
