Destrehan lineman sports several offers

He started on two Class 5A state championship teams with experienced seniors often around him. But now it is time for Destrehan offensive lineman Ashton Duhe to be the leader as he and the Wildcats prepare for spring practice and beyond.
"I love this program," said the 6-foot-3, 295-pound Duhe. "When I was a sophomore, I played guard and had seniors right beside me. When I was a junior last year, I had another senior next to me. Now, it's up to me. I'm the senior."

Duhe already has scholarship offers from SMU, Louisiana Tech and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Duhe's leading attribute is his aggressiveness. He has good size, but the fact that Duhe often goes all out until the play ends is what has set him apart.
"I'm very aggressive and have quick feet," Duhe said. "I like to get out front and block linebackers and defensive backs. I like to be aggressive because that is what it takes to win."
He knows a thing or two about winning. Duhe is 29-0 during his career and was part of the Wildcats' 15-0 2007 Class 5A state champion and last year's 14-0 state champion.
Aside from his current offers, Duhe said he is receiving mail regularly from LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Texas A&M, Utah, Michigan, Oregon and Nebraska. Coaches from LSU, Mississippi State, Southern Miss Utah, Central Arkansas and Tulsa have stopped by recently.
Right now, he said Louisiana Tech is his leader.
"I know the coach (Terry Joseph) pretty good," Duhe said. "And we have two people from our program going there, Rufus Porter and fullback Bobby Gorman."
