Jackson still firm to Ragin Cajuns

Jarrod Jackson plays wide-receiver for East. St. John (LA) and is easily the Wildcats best pass catcher this season. Jackson committed to Louisiana-Lafayette over the summer and has remained firm thus far. However, he did share that he is still open to other schools if it came along. Pelicanpreps.com caught up with the 6-foot receiver following a loss to rival Hahnville (LA).
"Right now my heart and efforts are focused on this team and getting better", said Jackson. "Today was a tough loss, but they wanted it more than we did. We came out hot, but we just didn't keep it going."

Jackson holds offers from Appalachian State, Northern Illinois and Wyoming. He maintains that despite the offers, he is still solid to the Ragin Cajuns.
"I committed during the summer because Louisiana-Lafayette is like my dream school", said Jackson. "I have wanted to go there since my sophomore year. I love everything about it. The coaches have told me that it is a great chance to play early. They told me get ready mentally and physically, if this I really want."
He lines up all over the field and has a knack for the big play on special teams. College coaches see the versatility in his game and want to take advantage of his skill. The senior wide-out is listed as 178 pounds, but can definitely add some weight to his frame.
"The coaches at UL told me that they want to use my at punt-returner and kick returner", said Jackson. "I like that part and I'm excited about it. Going into next year will be awesome no matter where I go. I just need to become more mentally tough and everything else will fall in place."
Jackson and the Wildcats are back in action next week versus Thibodaux (LA) and will look to get back on the winning track. Pelicanpreps.com will update you on the recruitment of Jackson as it happens.
