Jarius Monroe is the star defensive back for East St. John HS (Reserve, LA). The 2019 prospect has a host of offers from various schools throughout the country.

In addition to playing for his high school team, Monroe is also a member of the Louisiana Bootleggers - the elite 7v7 travel team in Louisiana.

He is a lengthy/athletic DB that can cover multiple types of receivers - whether they be tall possesion type receivers or shifty/speedy slot receivers.

Besides his ability to cover various types of WRs (and blanket them most times), he isn’t afraid of physical play and help in run support. He also has a knack for finding his way to the ball on every play.

Although he mainly plays cornerback, he has stated he doesn’t mind switching positions at the next level if asked to. “I can play multiple positions (in the secondary) so there isn’t one I’m locked in on. I have a lot of love and passion for the game of football and this sport has been apart of my entire life.”

Some of the FBS schools that are in the running to land Monroe are Western Kentucky University and Ball State University. There are also a number of in-state FCS schools that are recruiting him: Southeastern Louisiana, Southern University and Grambling State all vying for Monroe’s services.

“Honestly, I’ve been talking to a lot of coaches from all the schools.” At the moment, he is uncommitted and has no timetable for any final decision. He currently has no ‘favorite’ or is ‘leaning’ to any particular school. “I’m just weighing my options right now.”

Monroe currently has no immediate plans for any visits but insisted that he is open to taking visits to check out some college campuses to get an up close look at the schools that are after him. Below you can view Jarius’ highlights.
