2019 Louisiana DB Talks Recruiting

Donald Clay is one of Louisiana's top underclassmen for 2019. He plays for perennial powerhouse John Curtis Christian, but that hasn't stopped Clay from feeling he has a lot to prove.

The rising junior set down with Pelicanpreps.com to discuss his recruiting and the upcoming 2017 season.

*Notable*

Clay will have all eyes on him on September 2nd- literally for the first game of the season. His Patriots will take on reigning 5A state champions, Landry-Walker HS, and their host of blue chip talent. More importantly, Clay will draw the task of shadowing 5-star wide receiver, Devonta Jason on national television.

This will be the second time in as many years that the Patriots have been in the national spotlight, thanks to ESPN's high school showcase. However, being solely responsible for shutting down one of the nation's top wide receivers doesn't make it any easier.

Ultimately the confident Clay, seeks to hush all the naysayers and critics by proving his worth against an elite talent.

*What didn't make the video*

I have had the privilege of covering Clay since his freshman year of high school. In that time frame, he has gone from a scrawny 130 pounds to a sculpted 175 pounds.
