BURAS--Deep in the boot that is Louisiana is one of the best lineman that you have perhaps never heard of.

But it doesn't matter that you haven't heard of him, college coaches have an ever-growing knowledge of South Plaquemines offensive/defensive lineman Bryce Edgerson as the 6-0, 280-pound senior-to-be already has nine scholarship offers to choose from.

To-date, Edgerson's offers to continue playing the sport he loves on the next level include Arkansas-Monticello, Millsaps College, St. Vincent's, Huntingdon, Culver-Stockton, Carthage College, Sterling College, Otterbein University, He is also receiving interest from the University of Tennessee and Nicholls State University.

"We aren't to the point where I have one favorite school above any other," he said. "I'm still listening to all of the schools that have shown interest in me. I'm going to continue to try and get as many offers as I can. But for me, Tennessee is my dream offer."

In terms of what side of the ball he will play on the next level, Edgerson said it really depends on the school that is recruiting him.

"It's nearly half and half," he joked. "Some want me at guard on the next level and some want me on the defensive side of the line of scrimmage. If it were up to me, I believe that I'm better at guard. I like to dominate my opponent and the other thing is I like to outthink my opponent. I'm the kind of football player that likes to watch a tremendous amount of film. It's my goal each and every week to know what my opponent is going to do before they do it. It makes my job easier. There is not anything more fun than seeing how your opponent lines up across you on the line of scrimmage and you know what they are going to do based on how they line up and you can adjust and dominate. It's a great feeling. I love being characterized as a high-motor, aggressive and smart football player."

When it comes to what he expects for the South Plaquemine Hurricanes in 2020, Edgerson was blunt.

"State Championship," he said. "Anything else is unacceptable."
