From playing with the Louisiana Elite 7v7 team to tearing up the college camp circuit, Lucas has been a busy young man this spring. “These past few weeks have been a grind. I just love putting in major work and showing off my talent at major camp circuits but I still have things I feel I need to work on.

Playing with the Louisiana Elite 7v7 team helped improve my game a lot with route running, but I also got the chance to compete against some of the best players in the nation. It was an overall great experience.”

As a result of all of the hard work, he is finally seeing the fruit of his labor. In the past week alone, he has received offers from Maryland, Indiana, Tulane, Costal Carolina, Appalachian State, Eastern Carolina, Arkansas State, UNC-Charlotte, Georgia Southern, South Alabama, and Grambling State. That’s in addition to offers already held from Florida State, Vanderbilt, Memphis, Kansas, Southern Miss, FAU, Western Kentucky, New Mexico, Utah State, and a host of other schools. He has also been receiving interest from LSU.

“As of now, I don’t have any favorites. I’m just trying to find the best fit for me and a home atmosphere.”

Lucas recently took a visit to Florida State. “Coach Johnson and Coach Norvell love the way I competed through the drills and sessions. They also told me they like my speed and think my change of direction can be killer for their offense.”

With so much goin on and so many offers looming, Lucas plans to make a decision sooner rather than late. “I want to make my choice before football season.”

When asked what motto he lives by, Lucas simply stated “Always play above your level.”
