New Orleans — Exactly two weeks ago, Rummel safety Kaden White didnt know if he was going to continue his football career at a NCAA school. At the ‘eleventh hour’, he received his first offer — from Mississippi Valley State University. Fast forward another eight days and he was signing on the dotted line to be a Delta Devil.

“It feels great just knowing that I have a school that trusted in me and believed in me. It was a very challenging experience not knowing if I would even play college football a week before signing day. They (MVSU) trusted and believed in me and gave me a chance when nobody else did and I respect that a lot.”

As a senior, White accumulated 50 Tackles (30 Solo), 6 tackles for loss, a sack, one interception and one fumble recovery.

Once on campus, White looks to make an early impact on his new team. “I think I will fit in great in their system. They are asking me to play certain positions that I played in high school so it is very familiar. I’m very physical and technically sound and I can tackle everywhere on the field. I’m starting all over again so it’s on my mind to make an impact early.

He also understands the significance of attending a HBCU. “It’s definitely a blessing to be able to attend & go help a HBCU and being able to be apart of that environment. They really support and go all out for their respective schools.”

When asked to sum up the entire process, White mainly feels blessed and thankful for the opportunity to continue to live out and chase his dreams. “It was very difficult at times, but I have been put through adversity my whole life so I just kept it moving and just had to trust the process. This has all been a huge blessing. All praise goes to the man above and I want to say ‘Thank you’ to my mom and my entirr support system.”
