LAKE CHARLES—Keshlon “Spidey” Jackson may be one of the best wide receivers you have never heard of.

That doesn’t mean some the power five schools around the country aren’t after him with gusto.

The 6-0, 170-pound junior-to-be wideout out of Lake Charles College Prep is starting to garner some big attention from power five schools from across the country. Recently picking up an offer from Michigan State University, Jackson now has scholarship offers from the Spartans, Memphis, South Alabama and the University of Virginia after a sophomore season that saw him accumulate 876 all-purpose yards and six touchdowns, including a school-record 97-yard kickoff return against South Beauregard.

“The goal is every time I touch the ball I want to score,” he said. “I’m the type of deep threat receiver that is going to try and find the end zone no matter what. I try to be the best wide receiver and best person that I can be. I look up to wide receivers like Michael Thomas and Stefon Diggs, but they are two different types of wide receivers. My favorite receiver overall is really Julio Jones. I love his attitude and everything; quiet and goes about his business.”

The four schools to offer Jackson thus far continue to recruit him extremely hard.

“They are all telling me that if they can land guys like me that they can win championships,” he said. “Michigan State told me yesterday that after watching my film they knew I was a dawg. South Alabama told me the same thing as did Virginia, who wants me to camp there. The coach at Memphis was simple and to the point when he told me ‘I need you to come to my school.’”

While everything still depends on the status of the country because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jackson said he hopes to have a busy summer visiting schools around the region.

“I want to camp at Texas Tech and Louisiana Tech for sure,” he said. “I want to prove to them and show them what they are missing out on. The same thing goes for the University of Houston.”
