The Louisiana Elite 7v7 football team had a very impressive showing last weekend at the Pylon tournament in Dallas, Tx. After going 0-3 in pool play, the team made a complete 180° turn in bracket play and advanced all the way to the tournament’s championship game before losing to True Buzz (Dallas, Tx.)
One of the primary reasons the Louisiana Elite squad made a deep run was because of Rivals 250 WR Aaron Anderson. The LSU commit showed why he is regarded as one of the best players in the country as he was basically unguardable and was a touchdown catching ‘machine.’ Another player that turned a lot of heads was Jaylin Lucas. His performance at the tournament earned him an invite to the Pylon All-American experience.
Another player who really separated himself and stood out is QB Rickie Collins out of Woodlawn - Baton Rouge. The 2023 signal caller was very accurate and put passes where only his receivers had a chance to make catches. As of this article’s publication, he holds an offer from the Memphis Tigers.
On the opposite side of the ball, Cade Middleton and Lynard Harris (who holds a Virginia offer) made several pass breakups and caught a few drive-killing interceptions. Jai Eugene Jr., (son of former LSU defensive back and current La. Elite defensive coordinator Jai Eugene) had a stellar weekend as well. It is worth noting that his primary position is quarterback, but he is one of the better defensive players on this 7v7 team.
