One of Louisiana’s top prospects for the 2022 cycle is officially off the board. Ronald Lewis, III announced his commitment to Colorado on Monday.
Lewis wasted little time after his visit to Boulder to make his choice. “After visiting CU, I feel like that’s the best place for me. My visit was great. I got a chance to see how beautiful the campus was. The scenery with the mountains is something I’m not use to. I also got a chance to spend some time with (former Warren Easton teammate) Ashaad Clayton while I was out there.”
One of the main reasons ‘Champ’ chose Colorado is because of head coach Karl Dorrell. “I got to meet coach Dorrell (in person) and I like his vision. He has an NFL background and has great intentions on turning the program around there in Boulder, while at the same time coaching a team based on being a family and a brotherhood.
I feel like I can go there and ball out, make it to the next level and still have a tremendous opportunity for success in my life after football.”
The All-state defender from Warren Easton became a national prospect after his junior season, racking up 32 tackles, 8 interceptions and 7 passes defended. College offers from many different schools soon followed. Just because Lewis is committed to CU, he says his recruitment isn’t necessarily closed.
“As of now, my recruitment is still open and I am still in contact with other schools.”
