In a strange, but somewhat expected turn of events, Warren Easton 3-star linebacker, Edward Williams, signs letter of intent with Tulane University. The Green Wave courted Edwards heavily throughout the year. For their efforts, the Green Wave staff, made a big splash with the mother of Williams.
For many months now, Mrs. Rose Williams, had maintained that Tulane was the best option for her son. She opened up to PelicanPreps.com and shared her thoughts on her son's recent college choice.
"My son made the decision last night and we discussed it as a family", said Mrs. Williams. "I always felt Tulane was the best option for my son, but he had to choose where he wanted to go. Him and his father (Edward Williams IV) went to Tulane and signed early this morning."
"Tulane just made me feel more comfortable with what they have to offer academic wise. Edward took notice to the same thing and he decided to stay home".
Tulane has stockpiled a lot of hometown talent over the last two seasons to help booster an underachieving roster. The addition of Williams will allow the Green Wave to have much needed depth at the linebacker position.
In recent interview with Williams he made note that he has no intentions of redshirting. He will have the opportunity to learn from a great coaching staff in efforts to get on the field early.
Williams will report to Tulane following graduation in May and begin to compete during summer workouts.
With the recruiting process now over, Williams can focus all his attention on enjoying his last year in high school and preparing for College in the fall.
